Located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, PHSD #23 serves approx. 1500 students in grades PreK-8. The District and the Board of Education expect that participants will treat each other with respect. Posted comments that contain vulgar or abusive language; po*******hy; personal attacks of any kind; offensive terms that target specific ethnic or racial groups or incite violence or violate District

and/or Board policies may result in disciplinary action for students even if these offenses did not occur on school grounds or during school hours. The District will delete offensive comments including those that are spam, are clearly “off topic” or that promote services or products, and will make every effort to do so within a reasonable time frame, allowing for the manual nature of the removal process. The District reserves the right to remove any post without providing a reason. The District reserves the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information the District has) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any of your posts. Superintendent Angelaccio celebrated his last-first day in D23 around the District today, connecting with friends at Ike who have many more first-days to go and 8th graders who begin their last year as Marauders in D23! With that, it was shared at the Board of Education meeting and now on our website information about the search for our next Superintendent of Schools for Prospect Heights School District 23!

Superintendent Search
The Prospect Heights School District 23 Board of Education has officially launched its search for a new Superintendent of Schools to lead the district into its next chapter. The incoming leader will succeed Dr. Don Angelaccio, who previously announced his intent to retire at the end of the 2026–2027 school year after 15 years of dedicated service to the students, staff, and community. The new superintendent will assume official duties on July 1, 2027.

PROJECTED TIMELINE
Application Deadline: October 15, 2026 by Noon (CST)
Screening Interviews: October 27 & 29, 2026
Candidates Presented to Board: November 2026
Board Interviews Candidates: November 2026
New Superintendent Appointed: December 2026/January 2027
New Superintendent Begins: July 1, 2027
