THE FAIRLAND EAST ATTENDANCE RACE IS ON! 🏁

We’ve officially completed our first full week of school, and our Little Dragons are off to a GREAT start! 💚

This year, we’re making every school day count with our Fairland East Attendance Race! Each week, we’ll update our race board and watch Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade race to the finish line. At the end of each month, the grade level with the best overall attendance will earn a FUN Attendance Award!

After Week 1, here are our current standings:

🏁 Kindergarten — 96.4%
🏁 First Grade — 97.96%
🏁 Second Grade — 98.25%

Second Grade has an early lead…but it’s a close race!

We know that illnesses and unavoidable absences happen, but every day that our students are healthy and able to be at school is another opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and succeed!

Thank you, families, for helping us get the year off to such a strong start. We can’t wait to see which group of Dragons crosses the finish line first this month! 🏁

What a great start to the school year!

We have officially completed our first full week, and our Little Dragons are doing an amazing job! From learning classroom routines and making new friends to enjoying time on the playground, our students are already settling in and shining. It has been a great beginning, and we know it is going to be an even greater year at Fairland East!

Incoming East Kindergarten students :
As a reminder, any outstanding enrollment documentation must be turned in tonight at open house in order to complete your child’s registration 💚
This includes:
Birth Certificates
Proof of Residency ( a utility bill in your name)
Photo ID
Shot records/ well child visits

Fairland East office will be closed Monday morning for employee training. But don’t worry, we’ll be back for Open house 5-7pm tomorrow! This is a casual event, you can come and go and you’d like with no formal meeting to attend. Meet your teacher, see your classroom, walk around and check out the school! It’s almost time Little Dragons! We can’t wait to see you! 💚📚🍎

Fairland Local Schools is incredibly proud to congratulate Superintendent Roni Hayes on being named a recipient of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Superintendent Award of Excellence.
This prestigious award recognizes Ohio school leaders whose vision, service, and commitment create meaningful opportunities for students, strengthen educators, and advance public education.
For the past 15 years, Mrs. Hayes has led Fairland Local Schools with resilience, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to our students and families. Her leadership has helped our district navigate challenges, including the devastating 2024 tornado at West Elementary, while continuing to expand opportunities for our students through College Credit Plus, STEM, artificial intelligence training, professional learning, student health services, and free meals for every student.
Her leadership is more than just the decisions she makes. She is someone who builds partnerships, finds creative solutions, supports our teachers and staff, and remains present for our students and our community every day.
We are fortunate to have a superintendent who cares so deeply about Fairland and the students we serve.
