Our Global Studies students are following the journey of a sneaker (design, locating materials, manufacturing, and distribution). We have learned that a typical sneaker will travel more than 7,000 miles before it gets to our feet, but what happens when we no longer want or need those shoes?
Eighth graders are extending their learning through a service-learning project by hosting a shoe drive. This is a great opportunity for our students to make a positive impact in the world from our classroom.

Please donate your gently used shoes from April 30 - May 15!

We are so proud!

Mr. Joe Kuboushek, principal of Hidden Oaks Middle School and Twin Oaks Middle School, has been named 2025-26 Administrator of the Year by the Minnesota Association of School Office Professionals!

This honor recognizes outstanding leadership, dedication, and the positive impact administrators have on their school communities... and Mr. Kuboushek exemplifies all of that and more.

Nominated by staff and a student, he was recognized for his visibility, calm leadership, and genuine care for others. As one nominator shared, “He serves the people in front of him with authenticity and respect.”

We are proud to have such a strong, student-centered leader supporting our middle school communities every day. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 💙

Minnesota Studies students at HOMS spent the last few weeks learning about the early Dakota and Ojibwe. Afterward, they constructed a dwelling of their choice using supplies graciously donated by parents.

Theatre Opportunity!

The widely-popular middle school winter musical has sparked the creation of a short-term “workshop” experience for those interested in future participation in theatre programs. Participants will be introduced to various areas of theatre: auditioning, script reading, acting, stage blocking, costumes, make-up, props, sets, lights, sound, programs and more. A short skit will be performed at the last session, on Thursday April 30th.
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in April (8 sessions)
Location: TOMS auditorium
