As some of you may already know, I've closed the doors to my daycare on 5/17 💔 I've been struggling from my health for some time now. It was such a hard decision, but I have to focus on getting healthy.

To all my past and present daycare families, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful children with me. Thank you for trusting me to help them learn, grow, and love. It was my pleasure to provide them a home away from home and having them be a part of my 'ohana. Thank you for your love, understanding, and support in my decision. Thank you for your friendship. You are all family to me...forever.

To all my daycare children/my hanai nieces and nephews, thank you so much for allowing me to love on you. Thank you for challenging me at times 🤣 as it helped me to think out of the box and be creative in finding solutions to "solving the problem." I loved watching you grow. I loved when I would hear you repeat to each other the things that I would say to you:

"I can do anything if I don't give up."
"How do you solve the problem?"
"Let's share."
"It's your turn."
"Yes, please."
"I'm sorry."
"I'm tough." (When you fell or got hurt from playing wildly).

You've helped me grow as a parent. You've taught me things that I needed to improve on. Thank you for seeing through my fake smiles on days when I wasn't feeling well and asking if I was ok and telling me, "You're tough." 🥹❤️ Thank you for your hugs, kisses, and laughter. Auntie "Sha-yeen" loves and misses you all, and you all have a special place in my heart.

As we say in Hawai'i, "A hui hou." (Until we meet again). Hopefully, we can schedule play dates soon ❤️

Drop-in care can be challenging sometimes for the parents, child, and myself. Understably so. You and your child have never met me... I'm a stranger. My daycare is a new place that your child has never been to. Parents might feel nervous and think, "Is she really going to take care of my child?" Your child might feel scared. Your child might cry and won't want to let you go. Your child might run back to the car. Your child might look at me like, "I don't have to talk or listen to you because I don't know you, and I don't want to be here." And, the only thing that goes through my mind is, "How can I let this child know that they are loved and safe here by the time they go home?"

I know my goal is achieved when it's time for your child to go home and they don't want to leave here. They give me a hug, kiss, or a high five, or sometimes all three. Sometimes, they even call me, "Aunt Charlene." 🥰

If this is the type of child care you're looking for, I hope you give me a chance. Thank you to the parents who trusted me and gave me the opportunity to care for your child. They forever have a place in my heart ❤️
