Yesterday we hosted our 30th annual Ag Fair - always an amazing day with 350 4th grade students, their teachers and 100 volunteers. Nothing better than a beautiful spring day learning all about Agriculture and how it affects our daily lives. Kindergarten students at Douglas Elementary loved creating their own Holstein dairy cows after our lesson on dairy farms. They were thankful that dairy farmers are willing to work so hard to provide us with not only milk, but ice cream, yogurt, cheese and all the amazing dairy products we enjoy!

Bureau Valley - Walnut campus and the Manlius campus Brain Storm after school program had the best time learning about the Dairy industry! They of course know cows give us milk, but also cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and butter, just to name a few. They had so much fun turning cream, a liquid, into solid butter in just 10 minutes of shaking! Science is so cool 🐮🥛🧀🍨🧈

The Pre-K students at Douglas Elementary in Princeton and Bureau Valley, Wyanet campus loved learning about a day on the Dairy Farm. They learned that dairy cows are milk at least twice a day and three times a day on some farms, even on the weekends and holiday! Plus we learned that ALL cows give us white milk - even the brown ones 😉🐮🥛

In February we are learning about Dairy farmers! Without these hard working farmers we wouldn't have lots of our favorite foods, including butter. The 1st grade students at Jefferson Elementary loved making their own butter in the time it took me to read them a book about Clarabelle the Dairy cow!🐮🥛🧈
