We have exciting news to share! A new program is coming to MCTEC in 2027 for Mercer County Schools’ students. Leaders from MCTEC, WVU Medicine, and school counselors, met today with a representative from the Education Alliance to initiate the process of offering the MedEd program. The MedEd program is a two-year career technical healthcare program designed to introduce juniors and seniors to WVU Medicine Princeton Medical Center. MedEd students will gain on-the-job experience in healthcare careers and will participate in a paid internship during their senior year. The MedEd program is a partnership between the school system, MCTEC, WVU Medicine Princeton Medical Center, and the Education Alliance. The MedEd program is a direct pathway to a possible healthcare career after graduation.

The education continues! A second massive thank you to Princeton Rescue Squad and WVU Medicine for also taking the time to speak with Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Bryant’s afternoon Healthcare Occupations classes!

Just like our morning session, these students dived deep into crucial training:
Stroke awareness
Advanced cardiac care
Infection control

With 44 evening students educated to help our community, that brings our total impact even higher! We are so incredibly grateful for our community healthcare partners and their dedication to supporting all of our future healthcare heroes!
