Taco time at kids cafe! 🌮👩🏼🍳👨🏼🍳
Our little chefs had so much fun celebrating National Hispanic Heritage month by making their very own tacos! They got hands on in the kitchen as they prepared fresh ingredients, cutting up tomatoes, washing and picking the edible parts of the lettuce, scooping beans, and adding sour cream with cheese. They even got to make a choice between a soft or hard taco shell before building their taco just the way they liked it!
While creating their delicious tacos, they learned and developed important skills along the way. They practiced their fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, following directions, sequencing, making choices, independence, and teamwork. They also explored different colors, textures, smells, and flavors while learning about food preparation and trying new ingredients. Most importantly, they learned that food is a fun way to explore and celebrate different cultures while creating something they can be proud of and enjoy together!
We think our little chefs did an egg-cellent job and those tacos were pretty delicious too!
