Thank you to everyone in the Princeton Theological Seminary community who joined us for this year's Mujerista Symposium
This year’s lecture, “Sentipensar: Latin American Orientation to Care and Relations,” invited us to explore the deep connections between thinking and feeling as a way of understanding care, leadership, and community. We were honored to welcome our keynote speaker, Dr. Yara Gonzalez Justiniano, whose insights challenged and encouraged us to lead with holistic awareness. We also extend our gratitude to the Rev. Dr. Kenia Vanessa Mendoza, Esq., from Drew School of Theology, for her thoughtful and engaging response.
A highlight of the evening was our panel discussion led by our brilliant Latina students:
Claudia Marcela Alvarez, PhD Student
Adriana Soto Acevedo, MDiv/MACEF Dual, Senior
Pilar Gomez Cortez, MDiv Junior
Maria Clara Carvalho, MTS Senior
Gabriela Kunz, MTS Senior
Their reflections embodied the spirit of mujerista theology!
We also enjoyed a delicious Latin American dinner in an environment filled with great fellowship.
A special thank‑you to all who attended, supported, and uplifted our Latina theologians. To our friends from Drew School of Theology, thank you for joining us. Your presence helps sustain this vital space of protest, imagination, and community care. We look forward to continuing this tradition with you next year.

Dear Princeton Theological Seminary Community,
We are excited to invite you to this year’s installment of The Mujerista Symposium.
Every year, the symposium seeks to continue that tradition of protest and resistance laid out by Dr. Ada María Isasi-Díaz by creating a space where Latina leaders and theologians will, as Dr. Isasi-Díaz said, “provide insights and understandings regarding norms, values, virtues, and understandings of the divine that are life-giving instead of silencing the cries of the poor.”
Title of the Lecture: “Sentipensar: Latin American Orientation to Care and Relations”
When: Monday, April 20th, 2026
Time: 5 PM
Location: Princeton Theological Seminary – Mackay’s Main Lounge
64 Mercer St, Princeton, NJ
*Dinner will be served. Please register as soon as possible to help us prepare by using the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/W87A2Xpjpg

A quick word about the concept Sentipensar. Sentipensar (to think/feel) is a concept originated by Colombian fisherman and popularized by scholars and Latin American writers and speaks to a way of being that informs Latin American epistemologies and psychologies.
When applied to practices of care and relationship building, Sentipensar pushes us to look holistically at people by engaging their full range of thoughts/feelings and the environments that produce them. This lecture begins here and asks how we might gain better tools for leading in our contexts.
Please join us at this important event and support our Latina Theologians.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.
