We were first introduced to Dr. Moura Moto's new book last year during her Teachers As Scholars seminar, "Lessons from the Enslaved: Discussing Salvery and Freedom in the Classroom." She was kind enough to provide all her seminar participants with a signed copy of her book. We are so happy for her!

Come join us for a special screening of "Rule Breakers" at the 100 Arthur Lewis Auditorium, Robertson Hall on Friday, March 21 from 3-6pm. In a nation where educating girls is seen as rebellion, a visionary woman dares to teach young minds to dream. When their innovation draws global attention, their success sparks hope—and opposition. As threats loom and sacrifices are made, their courage and unity ignite a movement that could forever transform the world.
Produced by Laura Bilodeau Overdeck ’91, Rule Breakers is being released in theaters March 7, 2025, the eve of International Women’s Day. Based on the true story of the first all-female robotics team from Afghanistan, the film tells an extraordinary story of resilience and hope that is sure to inspire audiences worldwide.
A conversation between Laura Bilodeau Overdeck ’91 and Erin Flowers *23 will follow the screening.

Last week, Teachers As Scholars hosted a seminar with Dr. Ruth Ochs from Princeton University's Department of Music (Department of Music at Princeton University) and Lou Chen, CEO of INTEMPO (Intempo) Princeton University alum (Princeton Alumni), and preciously the Program Manager of the Trenton Arts at Princeton (Trenton Arts at Princeton).
Participants took a tour of the Woolworth Center. Participants also explored service and engagement-based learning for their musical and, by extension, artistic students and discussed each others unique educational contexts and local communities. They answered questions like "what kind of avenues exist for our students to use their musical passion for the betterment of others?, At all grade levels, how might we help our schools re-imagine service and community engagement, especially as it concerns the music and the arts, to encourage more activity?"
