Second Story’s mission is to offer the young people of Bureau County, grades 6-12, a sense of purpose and acceptance by providing an inclusive social atmosphere of companionship and encouraging conversation. The Second Story team is excited to announce Jaimie Pinter as our Executive Director. Jaimie joined us a few weeks ago and hit the ground running. As Second Story continues to grow, so does the need for someone who can be on site full time, helping oversee the day-to-day operations, supporting our staff and volunteers, connecting with our teens and families, and making sure everything behind the scenes keeps moving forward. Jaimie is our Head Coach. Jeff and Dana will continue to lead and support Second Story, while Jaimie steps into this new role to help manage the day-to-day and be a consistent presence at the Teen Center. She will be working alongside our Program Coordinator Asriella and Activities Director Dominic, as we continue creating a safe and welcoming environment for our teens in our community. We are incredibly excited to have Jaimie on board and for our community to get to know her!

Tuesday bus pickups-You must message the Second Story page no later than 3 p.m. Friday pickups you must message the Second Story page no later than 5:30 pm. Take home the teen must sign the paper at Second Story that night. We will NOT take any late requests. Thank you!!

This vision of our new building would never have came to where it is if it wasn't for this lady here-Julie your leadership and guidance was just what we needed to get our new location built. We will forever be grateful for the knowledge she brought to the building process and beyond. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being our light when we felt blind. Lets give a huge shout out to Julie!!

Julie became involved with Second Story as the Chairperson for the new building committee. Since the building was completed, she moved to the position of Executive Director, and has been supporting our Mission by seeking out grants and funding, participating in Lunch in the Park, Open Houses, the Bureau County Fair, and being a member of Princeton Rotary. She recently handed over grant and funding duties to Emily Wolf and will name a new Executive Director very soon! Dennis has been supportive behind the scenes by assisting Julie and the volunteers whenever needed both physically and financially. They both believe the Mission of Second Story is crucial to the youth and communities of Bureau County!

This event is tomorrow night-Girls Night. Come out and hang with other girls your age!! We have a speaker from The Way of Women-This class builds off of classes that we have in the past. This one focuses on the ways hormones can impact our moods and energy differently. The goal is to build relationships, give strategies to help us work our own bodies, and have fun together.

We raised $2100!! THANK YOU!!

A huge shout out to all our volunteers who worked long hours bringing in drop offs, setting up Thursday night, setting up all day Friday and working the event and making it run so smooth. Thank you to the volunteers who helped clean up after as well. We couldn’t do any of this if we did not have each and every one of you!! Thank you to our Highschoolers who took time out of their night to show up and help set up.

Thank you to our community for donating so much stuff to help us raise money and thank you to the rest of you who showed up and shopped our garage sale.
