Princeton High-NJ Class of 78

Spreading the word that Tony Sherin's film, Witch Hunt, will be screened on April 11th at 6 pm at the New Hope (PA) Film Festival. The film is about 30 mins long and recently won best documentary at a showing in Alexandria, VA.

Short synopsis:
WITCH HUNT is the story of how famed Hollywood character actor J. Edward Bromberg’s life was ruined when he was named a Communist before the House Un-American Activities Committee. In the 1940s, being named a communist could end one’s career, and the only way to save oneself was to name others. Bromberg refused, and was blacklisted.

The story is told by his now 92-year-old son, screenwriter Conrad Bromberg.

WITCH HUNT is a timely film, as conspiracy-minded politicians concoct propaganda campaigns with dire effects on the public, especially immigrants and other minorities.

No blacklisted artist was ever convicted of a crime.

Happy 2016 to everyone! Time for an announcement from your fearless reunion leaders:

The three of us got together for a very nice lunch last week. We all agreed enthusiastically that we have a class filled with wonderful and special people, and that we love our reunion gatherings and are looking forward to our next one! However, we also agreed that we would prefer it if someone else (or, a group of someone elses) would spearhead the planning efforts going forward. Of course the three of us will always be available, and we have a few tips as well as a robust contact spreadsheet to pass along.

Now is the time to step up! Even though our next reunion will be in 2018, the planning should probably start some time this year.

We will be sending out this message in an email as well. We certainly hope someone will step up so that we can continue our great reunions! Sending out our very best wishes for everyone's new year.

When Affirmed won the Triple Crown in 1978, we, as naive teenagers, took the accomplishment for granted since Seattle Slew had done it the year before, and the magnificent Secretariat only five years earlier. Little did we know then that it would be 37 years before another thoroughbred would share the title. Congratulations to American Pharoah!
