Ending where he started, Mr. L reads his final story in the same classroom he started teaching Kindergarten in 35 years ago. The K classes developed a bucket list for Mr. L in his retirement that includes suggestions like going to the beach, visiting his daughters, and trying new foods. Thank you for 35 amazing years!

What a weekend!
Thank you to everyone who came back to campus for Alumni Weekend 2026. From reunion celebrations and campus tours to Taps & Trucks, the Alumni Awards, and the Blue & White Bash, it was so special to see the PDS community together again.
We loved reconnecting, hearing your stories, and celebrating the many generations of Panthers who continue to carry this place with them long after graduation.

Before he was one of Marylandâs leading scorers, Diggy Coit â19 was a four-year varsity basketball player at PDS, a Peer Group Leader, and an active member of our Black Student Union. He graduated in 2019 without a Division I offer.
This week, he came back fresh off a standout season â two-time Big Ten Player of the Week, AP National Player of the Week â and spent the day with students across all three divisions.
In one classroom, a group of 4th graders watched a few minutes of his highlight reel. When it ended, he told them the moments that didnât make the reel were the ones that got him to where he is today.
âIt takes a lot more lowlights than highlights.â

Kelly Stevens â26 came to PDS for hockey. Sheâs leaving with a state championship title, CVC Goalie of the Year honors in a sport sheâd never played, and a version of herself she didnât expect to find.Â

What students learn matters. How they learn, and who they become while learning, matter just as much.
This week, PDS launched Connection, Purpose, and Learning That Lasts, a new strategic plan centered on four priorities: deepening student learning, expanding learning beyond the classroom, enriching community life, and securing a strong and enduring future.
