What an incredible experience for our Grade 6 Odyssey of the Mind team at the 2026 World Finals at Iowa State University! 🌎✨

After months of creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and dedication, our students represented Princeton Junior School on the world stage in Problem 1: "Off the Rails."

Facing 57 teams from around the world, they earned an impressive 17th-place finish in their division—a testament to their hard work, ingenuity, and perseverance.

Beyond the tournament itself, students had the opportunity to connect with fellow innovators, celebrate creativity, and experience the unique energy of the Odyssey of the Mind community through the Creativity Festival, where their booth representing New Jersey was voted most popular.

We are so proud of our team for embracing challenges with imagination, collaboration, and determination. Congratulations on an outstanding achievement and an unforgettable World Finals experience!

On Saturday, PJS students had the exciting opportunity to showcase their artwork at the Princeton University Art Museum. Experiences like these are one of the things that make our Studio Art program so special. By exhibiting their work in community spaces beyond our campus, students gain confidence, take pride in their accomplishments, and see that their creativity has a place in the wider world. This event was made possible through the Olivia & Leslie Foundation Art + Math program. See link in bio to learn more about this innovative program.

What happens when students are given the opportunity to explore an issue they truly care about?

The PYP Exhibition is the culminating student-led inquiry project of the Primary Years Program, bringing together years of learning, research, collaboration, and reflection.

This year, our Grade 6 students investigated a wide range of topics—from environmental conservation and online safety to mental health, emerging technologies, and more. Through their inquiries, they examined real-world challenges, considered multiple perspectives, and shared their learning with our school community and families.

The Exhibition is more than a presentation of research. It's an opportunity for students to pursue their interests, deepen their understanding of the world around them, and communicate their ideas with confidence.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be highlighting each of these remarkable projects and the students behind them.

Stay tuned. ✨

From imagination to blueprint 🌳✨

Our Kindergarten and Grade 5 students had an inspiring visit with Amy Sperow from Treetop Builders as part of the exciting PJS treehouse project! Students proudly shared their thoughtful treehouse designs and models, and Amy was impressed by the creativity, problem-solving, and innovative features the students incorporated, many of which may become part of the real treehouse.

During the site visit, Amy shared her expertise, introduced students to some of her cool building tools, and showed them the location where the treehouse will likely take shape. Students asked wonderful questions and gained a firsthand look at how ideas move from concept to construction.

Next up: Amy will return with her first draft blueprint based on conversations with students, teachers, and staff. Stay tuned as this incredible collaborative project continues to grow! 🌿🛠️

Moving Up Day was full of excitement and curiosity! ✨

This week, students had the opportunity to visit next year’s classroom, visit with their future teachers, and begin imagining all the learning and growth ahead. One of the most special parts of the day was seeing students who are looping within the suites step into mentor roles, sharing advice, answering questions, and helping younger students feel confident and excited for what’s to come. 💛

Our rising Grade 3 students also shared what they’re most looking forward to next year, and their enthusiasm made one thing clear — the excitement for the year ahead is already building at PJS!
