The Lewis School of Princeton and The Lewis Clinic for Educational Therapy was founded by Marsha Lewis in 1973 as a small tutorial school and educational diagnostic facility at a time when many educators flatly denied the existence of dyslexia or failed to recognize the potential among bright students whose diverse learning styles were unlike those of the majority of their peers. The Lewis School

is nationally renowned for its pioneering development and successful implementation of a new kind of educational model - "individualized, curriculum-wide, integrated multisensory teaching and learning" and is highly respected for its early recognition and validation of the gifts and talents often overlooked among learning different children. The Lewis School is also widely reputed for the highly effective, original multisensory teaching approaches and new teacher-training methods which our learning therapist-teachers and language specialists constantly revise and update. The Lewis School, our education component, provides pre-school through high-school/college-preparatory education.The Lewis School was created to retrieve and develop the potential of the student who has creative and academic promise, but who has been underserved in his/her routine mainstream education. Its staff of professionals works toward the vision of preparing capable students of all ages for higher achievement and productive lives. The Lewis Diagnostic Clinic functions as the diagnostic, speech, language and learning performance unit of the facility. Educational evaluations are provided on a fee-for-service basis by both school professionals and independent consultants who serve the clinic’s needs. The Lewis School and Diagnostic Clinic have developed an advanced, integrated system of education that replaces rote learning, memorization, and the teaching of “scatter skills” with individualized, multi-sensory processes and strategies that engage the many capacities and senses of the brain in the learning experience. Educational approaches and supporting teaching materials developed by The Lewis School have become the model for educators who need to help learning-different students. The school is consulted by clinicians who do research to explore the causes of learning-differences and the potential among learning different persons. 🏅 Let the Kindness Games Begin at The Lewis School!

Our Olympic Spirit & Kindness Week is officially underway, and our students are already going for the gold — not just in spirit, but in kindness, teamwork, and community.

Throughout the week, students will be recognized for acts of encouragement, inclusion, and leadership as we celebrate what truly makes champions: character and compassion. These jars will be filled with the "medals" they earn each day.

We are so proud of the positive energy filling our hallways and the meaningful ways our students support one another every day. At The Lewis School, kindness always wins gold.

December gave us one of the most beautiful moments of the year—our annual Tree of Light ceremony. ✨

Families gathered, candles glowed, and our campus filled with warmth, reflection, and hope. This night is a reminder of what makes our community so special: connection, kindness, and the light each of our students brings into the world.

Thank you to every family, staff member, and student who helped make this evening so meaningful. These memories will stay with us long after the lights come down. 🤍

Veterans Day at Princeton University Chapel

The Lewis School of Princeton is honored to invite our families, friends, and community members to join us in celebrating Veterans Day at the Princeton University Chapel.

We welcome all parents, guardians, and veterans who are connected to our Lewis community to attend this meaningful service. The assembly will honor both local and university veterans with music, speakers, and a color presentation by the ROTC “Tiger” Battalion.

Our students and teachers showed up in full color from pink shirts to bright accessories standing together for strength, hope, and awareness. Special shoutout to Mrs. Vogel and Mrs. Dark, who joined in on the fun and helped lead the way in spreading positivity and support across our campus! 🌸

Noodles spent the day cozy and comfy in her PJs, bringing extra smiles, snuggles, and joy to everyone on campus. There’s no better way to celebrate Spirit Week than with a little love (and fluff) from our favorite four-legged friend!
