Letterpress printing is a movable type printing process invented by Gutenberg in the 15th century that the majority of publications were printed using until the second half of the 20th century. Under the supervision of David Sellers, a printer in Hopewell NJ, we hope to produce several major works each academic year. Princeton University - Video feature: 'A Study in Type' In class and in their spare time, Princeton University students are learning the art of letterpress printing in the typography studio at the Lewis Center for the Arts. Above, students look at lines of type in different styles, including serif, serif italics and sans serif.
