That's a wrap!
We had a wonderful end to our year at PLC.
We spent the morning celebrating the members who are moving on to adult life and new adventures beyond PLC. There were plenty of laughs as friends shared favorite memories and funny stories, along with a few tears and lots of hugs goodbye.
Afterward, we walked over to the park to gather with families for a potluck lunch and one of our favorite traditions, the ceremonial cutting of the watermelon to mark the beginning of a new phase of life. It was a beautiful day to come together and celebrate all that our members have accomplished.

One of our favorite end-of-year traditions at PLC is Field Day.
PLC teens plan and organize the events and it is always great watching their planning come together in a fun way for the whole community.
This year's activities included kickball, tug of war (teams and individual competitions), face painting, and a scavenger hunt. There was plenty of laughter and friendly competition -also some sitting inside with the air conditioner.

PLC has chicken eggs in the incubator and we’re hoping to see some little chicks hatch in the next week or so. We got to watch chicks hatch last year and it was one of the sweetest experiences. It’s amazing watching the tiny cracks appear and then seeing the little guys finally make their way out into the world.
We’ll keep everyone updated as hatch day gets closer.

We had such a fun day at Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk.
The weather was perfect and PLC teens spent the day playing arcade games, walking up and down the boardwalk, and enjoying everything the beautiful Jersey Shore has to offer. There were zeppoles, cotton candy, giant lollipops, lots of laughter and some sneaky sea gulls looking for snacks (they didn't get any this time).
We enjoyed the time to explore, and just enjoy being together before summer break.

One of our PLC teens recently led a workshop where participants designed and created their own custom press-on nail sets. Everyone learned how to work with gel polish and left with a set of their own custom made nails and a new creative skill. We love when our teens share their interests, and build confidence in themselves. We had so much fun that we are going to do it again!

On any given day at PLC you might see painting, sculpting, sketching, or even slime making going on in our art room. We recently repainted and reorganized out art room and it's way more cozy and inviting.
Having the time, space, and materials to create helps build confidence, offers an outlet for thoughts, ideas and emotions and allows us to discover interests we might not have explored otherwise.
Check out some of our recent creations.

We had the chance to try out the new Princeton Loop Bus recently and it is a game changer!
With stops connecting the Princeton Shopping Center, Palmer Square, the Princeton Dinky Station, and more, this new route makes it much easier for people to move independently around town.
Having access to reliable public transportation opens up so many possibilities for our teens- getting to the library, meeting friends, exploring town, and even better access to the NJ Transit train. It’s exciting to see how this bus route will expand our freedom to get around the beautiful town of Princeton.
If you’re local, definitely check it out!

On Friday, we toured Willard Brothers Woodcutters and got a behind the scenes look at their work. We explored the sawmill, checked out the beautiful slabs they sell, and had an in depth conversation with one of their furniture makers about their process.
A highlight for those who appreciate fine woodworking, Willard Brothers was the main supplier for George Nakashima.

A big THANK YOU to Mercer County Community College and Prof. Lynch's
