Big congratulations to these students on completing CPR training today.! Each one of the students are enrolled at MCTEC this fall in the LPN course. They are learning life saving skills they’ll carry throughout their nursing careers. 🩺 ❤️

One of our favorite events is when a former student comes in to give us an update! We were so excited to have such a visit from Matilda today! Please help us congratulate her on a recent promotion to a MANAGEMENT position at Arby's!

Matilda was an excellent SPOKES/ABE student who overcame multiple obstacles while achieving a variety of certifications. She was thrilled to obtain her High School Equivalency, but did not stop there. She also obtained an ACT WorkKeys certificate, Computer Essentials (Key Applications, Living Online and Computing Fundamentals), Money Essentials, Work Essentials (Job Ready, Job Seeking and Job Keeping), WV Hospitality, and CPR/First Aid while enrolled.
She has taken this enthusiasm into her work and personal life and we are excited to hear the next set of updates in the future! Keep up the good work, Matilda!

SPOKES SPOTLIGHT: Congratulations to Cynthia Frances for obtaining the prestigious "Ready to Work Certificate."

This is one of the most difficult to obtain as it includes multiple required achievements for the certificate.
1. 90% attendance of all class sessions.
2. Excellent punctuality.
3. Minimum of level 4 on ACT WorkKeys Assessment in three areas (Graphic Literacy, Workplace Documents and Applied Math).
4. Achieve minimum of 80% on 17 core Employability Skills Modules.
5. Achieve minimum of Gold Level on all three assessments in Computer Essentials Certificate of Achievement (Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications and Information, and Living Online).

Great job, Cynthia! Keep it up!

Snow days were nice, but progress doesn’t wait forever! Roads are clearing, routines are back, and it’s time to pick up right where we left off. Every class you show up for is one step closer to your GOAL—and that’s worth braving a little cold and ice.

Let’s shake off the winter slowdown, refocus, and keep moving forward. You’ve got goals to reach, and we’re back at it together! 📚💪

The best Christmas packages don't come with bows. Today we're celebrating Maria Dunn for passing her math test and officially earning her GED -- a gift she worked hard for, stayed committed to, and earned every step of the way. This accomplishment won't be wrapped under a tree, but it will open doors, build confidence, and last far beyond the holiday season.

Determination, perseverance, and belief in yourself are the real gifts -- and this one is priceless. We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what comes next.
