🚨Meet your Staff Monday: this week we are introducing our School Counselors
🐆Hi, I'm Dr. Kiara Johnson, one of the school counselors here, and I am so excited to be part of the Princeton community! Originally from Mississippi, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Mississippi and Texas and a certified school counselor with 7 years of experience supporting students' social, emotional, and academic growth. I hold a Doctorate, Specialist, and Master's degree in Counseling, which has equipped me with a deep foundation of knowledge and skills to meet the diverse needs of every student I serve. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor and School Counselor. In my previous state, I was honored to be named the Mississippi Counseling Association School Counselor of the Year in November 2025. Counseling is truly a calling, and I love this profession wholeheartedly. I have also been actively involved with the Mid-Mississippi Counseling Association, where I contributed to the professional development of counselors and advocated for meaningful services for students and families. I am passionate about collaborating with families and believe that teamwork is at the heart of every student's success. I am also a proud new Texas resident, and I am willing, ready, and eager to make a meaningful and lasting impact in this community. I am happily married with three children, and as a fun fact, I love unwinding with my favorite shows, The Rookie and 9-1-1, and when I'm not binge-watching, you can find me soaking up the sun and recharging at the beach. I am beyond excited to be part of this school family and can't wait to meet each and every one of you!
🐆Hi, I’m Lexi Loizeaux, and next year will be my 7th year in education. I began my career as a classroom teacher and cheer coach, where I developed a passion for building meaningful relationships with students and helping them grow both inside and outside the classroom.
Last year, I had the opportunity to serve as a school counselor at Clark Middle School, supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional development. I love helping students navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and discover their strengths.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and later completed my Master’s degree in Counseling. As I continue my journey in education, I remain committed to creating a supportive environment where every student feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to succeed.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, Kyle, and our Dalmatian, Rudder. Whether we’re traveling, spending time outdoors, or simply relaxing together, I love making memories with my family and friends.
I am excited for the opportunities that the upcoming school year will bring and look forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to make it a great year!

🚨Meet the Staff Monday: This week we are welcoming our Assistant Principals.
Mrs.Crawford: I was born and raised in Rockwall, Texas. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Texas State University and my Master of Education from Sam Houston State University. I began my teaching career in Dallas ISD where I was the ESL lead teacher for 5 years before moving to Princeton. I was the ESL coordinator at Princeton Senior High for 4 years before beginning my assistant principal journey and I am loving my new role! I am married and we live in Princeton with our 2 beautiful dogs, Charlie and Phoebe. In the little free time I do have, I enjoy reading, hiking, practicing hot yoga, and being a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. I am honored to serve as your assistant principal at Banschbach Middle School and I am so excited to see what we will accomplish together this year!
Mr. Townsend: I was born in Montreal, Canada and moved to the USA where I finished school in Washington state. After college I moved to Texas to teach chemistry in Dallas ISD. While my initial degree is in biology, my real passion is physics. Over the years I have been a classroom science teacher in several districts and had roles in Curriculum & Instruction at Region 10 ESC, Rockwall ISD, and a teacher training company. Before working in Princeton ISD, I left education and worked at NASA for 7 years on their bioastronautics contract, where I wore numerous hats including writing an ebook on space radiation. My wife and I have 4 adult children who are all on their own path in life and I celebrate that they no longer act like teenagers. I enjoy traveling and learning, and am excited to serve the BMS family this upcoming year. Go Jags!
While their paths to BMS have been very different, both leaders are united by their commitment to students and their excitement for the year ahead. Please join us in giving them a warm Jaguar welcome as they begin this new chapter with our BMS family. 💛🐆

🚨Meet Your Staff Monday: Mrs. Erica Haggard, Founding Principal of Thomas Banschbach Middle School!
I am incredibly honored and excited to serve as the founding principal of Thomas Banschbach Middle School. Opening a new school is a once-in-a-career opportunity, and I am grateful to be part of building something special from the very beginning.
For the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of serving students as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. I hold master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership, as well as principal and superintendent certifications. Princeton ISD has been my home for the last 11 years, and the relationships, experiences, and opportunities I have been given here have shaped me into the educator and leader I am today. Most recently, I had the honor of serving as principal of Clark Middle School, where our students and staff earned an A rating from the state of Texas. That success was built through teamwork, strong relationships, and an unwavering commitment to student growth—values I look forward to bringing to Thomas Banschbach Middle School.
I believe schools should be places where students feel known, valued, challenged, and supported. Strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to doing what is best for kids will be at the heart of everything we do at Thomas Banschbach Middle School. My goal is to build a campus culture where students are excited to learn, staff members love coming to work each day, and families feel welcomed, valued, and connected.
One of the things that excites me most about opening BMS is the opportunity to create traditions, establish a strong culture, and build a legacy alongside our students, staff, families, and community. Together, we will shape what it means to be a Jaguar and create a school that future generations will be proud to call home.
When I am not at school, you can usually find me spending time with my husband and our two children, Holden and Harper, cheering them on in their activities, traveling, or making memories with family and friends.
Thank you for trusting me with this incredible responsibility. I cannot wait to welcome our students, staff, and families through the doors of Thomas Banschbach Middle School and begin this exciting journey together.
Join the Hunt! 🐆
