The awards ceremony will take place Saturday evening at 6:30 at the Feaster Center. Doors will open at 5:30. Family and ...

The awards ceremony will take place Saturday evening at 6:30 at the Feaster Center. Doors will open at 5:30. Family and friends are encouraged to use the livestream for viewing, as the fire marshall will close the doors if we meet capacity. There is a parking garage for those able to walk, and if handicap parking is needed, use the section between buildings 8 and 17. The ceremony will be live streamed on the state SkillsUSA page. Organizers will announce winners in reverse order starting with welding. Please be mindful that these kids have worked hard and deserve every bit of recognition if walking across the stage. We ask that guests PLEASE REMAIN for the duration of the ceremony. **If kids are riding home with their parents after the ceremony, they must be signed out by an administrator, and NO ONE will be released until the gym floor chairs are carted and the bleachers cleared of trash.

Weeks of planning have gone into the SkillsUSA trip to Fairmont this weekend. A little over 200 people going. Please pray that I haven’t screwed something up. 😆 Wish the kiddos luck that we bring home some bling. That gold would be especially nice. 😉 Atlanta, you’re next!! Watch out!

In three weeks the Mercer County Technical Education Center - MCTEC will send 18 middle schoolers, 19 adult students, and 143 high school students to Fairmont State University to compete at the West Virginia SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference. They will be competing among 1,200 CTE students from across the state in approximately 100 different contests. We are hoping to bring home some gold so we can continue the journey to nationals in Atlanta. Wish these kiddos the best of luck!
