🇺🇸 Mrs. Anderson's second grade class completed a Social Studies unit all about veterans and Veterans Day. They learned about the history of Veterans Day and the six branches of the military, but most importantly, they learned about what makes veterans so special every day of the year.

The students wrote to Veterans near and far, mailing over 100 letters of gratitude to these very deserving men and women. The class is now receiving messages, emails, and cards in return. They even got a special surprise visit by two of Mrs. Anderson's uncles who served in the Army and Air Force. ❤️🇺🇸💙

Mrs. Bauer's class learned about maps, globes and continents. They learned how to read maps using symbols, a compass rose and a map key. Students also created their own world map and labeled all 7 continents and the oceans. They also learned a song to remember the names of the continents.🌍🗺️

Mrs. Anderson's students participate in a Science project about decomposition. Pumpkin Jack started as a whole, healthy pumpkin. Jack has been kept in a sealed container. He is still there, doing just that he is supposed to be doing! This experiment follows the life cycle of a pumpkin from decomposition to new growth.
