Tomorrow is our last day of school! Before our celebrations and Graduation tomorrow, and before our students head off for summer adventures and our teachers embark on summer trainings and enrichments to help them prepare for the 2026-27 year, we have a little housekeeping to do. Our Grade School students have been making Main Lesson books all year, creating their own beautiful written and illustrated text books for each block of study. Here you can see our 1st Graders have organized their Main Lesson books and bound them with care. They will bring home and keep as a record of all they have learned this year. WSP alums and their parents often tell us that they treasure their Main Lesson books long after they have left our campus- by the time they graduate 8th Grade, it is quite a big collection!

Thank you for supporting the WSP Annual Fund and helping our community grow!

Annual Funds are essential in Waldorf schools. The donations made by current and alumni families, board members, faculty and staff, former faculty, and friends of the school help to support tuition assistance, faculty training, campus and facilities maintenance, festivals, and enriching experiences that support the whole community. Annual Funds help bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of providing a Waldorf education.

There is still time to continue to our 2025-26 Annual Fund! You can make a gift here: https://checkout.square.site/merchant/CE0C1E625NBGM/checkout/PCBWJ25TZUBZYV3V4W3ZKJV3

You can also show your support by sharing this post with your online community!

Take a look at some of the amazing projects our Grade School students have created this year in Handwork class! 🪡🧶

In Handwork, students build not only fine-motor skills and dexterity, but also put mathematics and other STEM skills to practical use - learning, adjusting and inventing patterns (similar to early coding skills) as they knit, crochet, and sew. Students exercise mindfulness and grow in confidence as they work to create a final product from raw materials with a sense of purpose and pride.

Our 3rd/4th Graders are in a Zoology Main Lesson block, studying many creatures of the animal kingdom. One of the animals they have been studying are orcas. As part of this block the class has adopted an orca, who they named Spirit. Spirit is a female orca from L Pod, one of the three family pods living in the Pacific Northwest waters of the Salish Sea. Spirit is recognized by researchers by a small notch in her dorsal fin and has spent her entire life with her family pod.

"Our adoption program brings our Zoology block more practical work." 3rd/4th Grade teacher Narsingh Khalsa wrote to her class parents. "Instead of only reading facts in books, students can form a relationship with a real living animal and learn about animal behavior, habitats, family structures, migration, conservation, and the interconnectedness of life. Through Spirit, we can ask questions like: How do animals care for one another? How do they communicate? What challenges do they face? Students will also learn about protecting oceans and habitats and developing care and respect for the natural world. We are tracking her pod and their movements. Currently, they are near Vancouver Island, close to Seattle, Washington."

There is so much to explore at the creek that borders our 80+ acre campus! Building dams and fairy houses, racing boats made of sticks and leaves, catching crayfish, and skipping stones are just some of the endless possibilities. Recently, our Rose Kindergarten class spent some time at Pebble Beach, one of the many beloved areas our students visit all year round!

At the Waldorf School of Princeton, every aspect of our play-based Early Childhood program has purpose. Our child-initiated program is designed to lay the foundation for executive functioning skills, impulse and emotional control, flexible thinking, working memory, self-monitoring, planning, initiative, and organization. In Early Childhood, children learn to care for themselves, their classmates, and their environment. Through implicit learning—engagement in real-life activities—our students gain the fundamental skills they need to develop academically, and above all a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. This curriculum, rich in poetry and story telling, inspires wonder and a resilience that enables our students to creatively solve the problems they face.
