Southard's teacher and staff member for the month of May are 8th grade history teacher Khara Barnard and secretary Teresa Castellanos.

Mrs. Barnard is an incredible leader on our campus as both our Social Studies Department Head and NJHS Sponsor. She consistently goes above and beyond to support students, coworkers, and the overall success of Southard.

Mrs. Castellanos works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our campus running smoothly. She handles countless responsibilities with professionalism and care.

Ms. Nichols treats her 8th graders to a lunch with a short message: โ€œAs this school year comes to an end, we want to give a huge thank you to our amazing library/office aides for all of their hard work, help, and dedication throughout the year. It has been so special watching each of them grow, gain confidence, and become such an important part of our SMS library family . I am so proud of you all and wish you nothing but success and happiness in high school!โ€
