ANNOUNCEMENT: The 2026 Agricultural & Environmental Law Conference is now open for early bird registration. The conference will be help on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026, at the Crowne Plaza in Annapolis, MD.

Hosted by the Agriculture Law Education Initiative (ALEI), this one day event brings together attorneys, educators, environmentalists, landowners, policymakers, producers, and students to explore today’s most pressing agricultural and environmental law issues.

UMES Extension 4H educator Brad Hartle hosted several activities this summer for students in Wor-Wic Community College's Summer Scholars program. Students learned about livestock at University of Maryland Eastern Shore's goat and sheep farm, and Hartle taught them how to dissect different land and sea specimens, including starfish, squid, grasshoppers, and sea anemone.

The UMES Extension 4H team wrapped up fair season last weekend at the Wicomico County Fair, where kids practiced coding in the mobile STEM lab when they weren't touring the fairgrounds and interacting with livestock. Thanks to everyone who stopped by! See you next summer!
