*One of the big off-season changes after an historical year for the program was Alec Meintzer who stepped down. Despite the change at Head Coach the Washington High School Football team retains most of their staff with Tremont White, an assistant on last year's squad and a WHS graduate has taken over the Jag program.

*Last year was a huge turnaround for the program. The loss of Meintzer hurts and it's unfortunate it had to happen but that's in the past now. It's an old school staff from a number's standpoint but quality matters much more than quantity. Washington is fortunate to have had White in the wings as a former grad and player. He is energetic and excited and has maroon and gold in his veins. All of the coaches have a lot of experience in the youth ranks with pop warner which is so important to communities across Delmarva. There may not be a lot of varsity experience here but seeing what they did last year should erase those concerns. To have done what they did was huge and is something they can hang their hat on and keep the kids buying in. The hard part is keeping it going and starting to build multiple consistent seasons, but you can't get to that point without that first season foundation and they have done that. Having the continuity of last year's staff come back is important.
