It has been a great first few days of school. We are aware of the concerns that have been raised about the change to one lunch period. The line does seem long at the beginning, but we have three lines that the students can go to and the line goes really quickly. All students are through the line in 15 minutes or less and still have 20 minutes to eat their food. We are continuing to monitor things and make small changes to make things run as smooth as possible.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Visual Arts Teacher for students in grades 6 through 8 at Mont Harmon Middle School in Price, UT. Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and a valid Utah teaching license or willingness to complete the requirements to earn a professional license.

The visual arts teacher fosters creativity, artistic skill development, and appreciation for visual arts while helping students explore a variety of media, techniques, and artistic traditions. Instruction aligns with district curriculum and state visual arts standards while supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Plan and deliver engaging visual arts lessons aligned with district curriculum and state standards.

-Teach foundational art concepts including elements of art and principles of design.

-Provide instruction in a variety of media such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and digital art when available.

-Introduce students to art history, cultural influences in art, and contemporary artists.

-Demonstrate artistic techniques and guide students through creative processes.

-Adapt instruction and materials to meet diverse student learning needs.

-Evaluate student learning through projects, portfolios, critiques, and participation.

-Provide constructive feedback to help students refine artistic skills and techniques.

-Maintain accurate records of student progress and grades.

-Attend staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.

-Maintain inventory of art supplies and request materials as needed.

-Follow district policies, procedures, and applicable state education regulations.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for both a Girls and Boys Head Basketball Coach at Mont Harmon Middle School in Price, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background screening. Middle School Boys Basketball Head Coach. Instruct student athletes on skills and strategies, and organize equipment. Must have the ability to communicate with all stakeholders,ability to follow directions as well as knowledge of the skills and strategies of the game of basketball. This is a part time seasonal position working about 10 hours per week.
