Carbon School District has opened registration for the 2026-2027 school year. We are so excited to welcome our students back for another year!

Parents/guardians of RETURNING STUDENTS will use the Parent Portal to complete registration. Simply login and click on the "Returning Student Registration 2026-2027" link in the portal. It will be on the bottom of the left side of your screen.

Parents/guardians of RETURNING STUDENTS who have not yet created a Parent Portal account, please contact your child's school on MONDAY, AUGUST 3 to obtain the access ID and password from the school secretary. You will need this information when you create your Parent Portal account.

Parents/guardians of NEW STUDENTS should use the "New Student Registration for 2026-2027" link on the district or school web page. This option is for students who are NEW TO THE DISTRICT.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Intervention Aide at Castle Heights Elementary School in Price, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. The Elementary Intervention Aide provides academic support to students who need additional assistance in meeting grade-level expectations. Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, intervention teacher, and school administration, the aide works with individual students and small groups to reinforce reading, mathematics, and other academic skills through targeted interventions funded by the school's Trustlands Program. The aide helps create a supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and achievement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide academic intervention services to individual students and small groups as directed by certified staff.
Reinforce reading, mathematics, writing, and other foundational academic skills using teacher-selected intervention materials and strategies.
Assist with the implementation of intervention programs designed to improve student achievement.
Support students in developing confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
Monitor student participation and progress and communicate observations to the supervising teacher.
Assist with preparing intervention materials, organizing instructional resources, and maintaining learning spaces.
Help administer practice activities, assessments, and progress monitoring under the direction of certified staff.
Assist students with educational technology and online learning platforms used during interventions.
Maintain accurate records and documentation as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
Foster a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or supervising teacher.

Will work approximately 26 hours per week. Beginning pay is $17.59 per hour

Please note: Conditions of employment include that the candidate must demonstrate effective basic computer literacy, be able to demonstrate a 98% student testing accuracy/effectiveness, effectively teach small groups and effectively manage students. All aides are assigned a daily recess duty.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Custodian at Castle Heights Elementary in Price, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background screening. Will help with the operation, upkeep and cleaning of the assigned school building and grounds. Keeping the building comfortable, safe and clear for all times the building is scheduled for use. Custodial duties include cleaning walls, windows, furniture, floors (carpet & tile) and cleaning restrooms. Stripping and waxing tile floors, refurbishing gym floors periodically. Other custodial duties as assigned by head custodian including minor maintenance on the building and grounds. Will work 3pm-7pm during the school year. Summer hours are flexible. A special recognition took place at the Carbon School District Board Meeting on June 17. Frank and Brenda Peczuh expressed their heartfelt gratitude to teachers Kristina Schade and Cindy Smith for their lifesaving actions during a choking emergency involving their son, David, at the Castle Valley Center. Thanks to their quick thinking, calm demeanor, and immediate response in performing the Heimlich maneuver, Kristina and Cindy were able to help David during a critical moment. The Peczuhs also extended their appreciation to the entire Castle Valley Center staff for the care, professionalism, compassion, and support they provide to students and families each day.

In accordance with the state and federal regulations implementing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), this is to inform of intent to destroy personally identifiable information related to special education services maintained in Carbon County School special education records for students that graduated, completed or aged out in 2019, 2020 or 2021.

The state only requires records be maintained for three (3) years from the date the child graduates, leaves the district or no longer receives special education and related services.

If you wish to obtain this information for your personal records, you need to contact us at 435-613-3159 before July 30, 2026; otherwise, the information will be destroyed after July 30, 2026. Please note that the student will have to be the one to request the records unless the parent has guardianship.

Please be advised that the records may be needed by the student or the parent for private, State, or Federal programs such as disability, social security benefits or other purposes.
