The 2021 UMPI Golf season has concluded and I wanted to give a "shout out" to this group of young men. A great group of guys to work with and to be around all Fall. They represented our University exceptionally well. This group traveled a total of 3,235 miles for our golf matches so we are definitely the "Road Warriors." Despite the travel, we had an opportunity to play some outstanding golf courses throughout the last 6 weeks including Waterville Country Club several times, Augusta Country Club, Bangor Municipal Golf Course, The College Course at SUNY-Delhi, Purpoodock Golf Club, Mars Hill Country Club and our Home course of Presque Isle Country Club.

We are very excited to be hosting bestselling author Kate Braestrup this Friday as part of our Distinguished Lecture Series!

During her talk, Practice and Play in the Maine Woods, the author and Maine Warden Service Chaplain will pass on lessons learned from game wardens about preparing for, and enjoying, time in the wild and beautiful lands of Maine.

Braestrup is the author of the bestselling memoir Here If You Need Me, as well as other works of nonfiction including including Anchor and Flares: A Memoir of Motherhood, Hope, and Service; Marriage, and Other Acts of Charity; and Beginner's Grace: Bringing Prayer to Life.

New York Times best-selling author to serve as next LDLS speaker | UMPI The University of Maine at Presque Isle will present New York Times best-selling author Kate Braestrup as the first speaker in its 2021-2022 Libra Distinguished Lecture Series on Friday, Sept.

Check out how English Professor Lea Allen takes advantage of winter in Northern Maine and New Brunswick! Dr. Allen commutes to campus from just over the border in New Brunswick, and last year competed with her team in the Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Race. The Can-Am will not be held this year due to Covid, but I'm sure the dogs are ready to hit the trails with all the new snow we just received!
