We wrapped up our Upward Bound summer program with an incredible trip to Chicago! We toured Husson University and Roosevelt University. We went to Lincoln Park Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium. We cheered on the White Sox. We visited the Bean, Buckingham Fountain, and Navy Pier. We tried deep dish pizza, survived the storm, and navigated public transportation. It was a once in a lifetime type of trip full of many firsts and the perfect way to cap off our amazing summer!

A couple of days of tours and getting soil and water samples. Shout out to our special guest speaker Yodie, who was the best boy and is available to adopt at Central Aroostook Humane Society!

Way to go, Lily! Congratulations!

Congratulations to Ruth Greene and Lily Rush for being chosen to represent Southern Aroostook High School at Dirigo State. They spent last week at Colby College, learning about the government and how it works at a municipal, county, and state level.

The American Legion, Department of Maine Dirigo State is a comprehensive, experiential learning, youth leadership program. It is designed after the Maine State government, where all students come together to create their own town, county, and state governing bodies.
