**REMINDER -- Get those FAFSA's completed if you are returning to UMPI for Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027

UMPI Foundation Scholarship Application:

The University of Maine at Presque Isle offers a variety of scholarships recognizing the unique talents and interests of our returning students. Most scholarships do not require financial need, and we encourage all eligible students to apply. Please note that at this time, scholarship opportunities are available only to students enrolled in traditional academic-year programs (15-week fall and spring semesters) and do not include students enrolled in the YourPace Program.

Students who will be returning next academic year (Fall 2026/Spring 2027) are strongly encouraged to apply. If you will be graduating, withdrawing, or transferring after the Spring 2026 semester, you are not eligible for these scholarships. Applications are due no later than THIS Friday, January 30, 2026. Please answer all questions thoroughly and apply only for the scholarships for which you qualify. Here is the link for the scholarship application:

If you will be attending the Spring Semester and/or Sessions that start in January and/or March. Please make sure you have completed the 2025-2026 FAFSA Form at www.studentaid.gov

The 2025-2026 FAFSA covers aid for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026,and Summer 2026.

If you will be returning to UMPI for Fall 2026 -- please complete the 2026-2027 FAFSA form (for Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027)

Hello UMPI Students,

We hope your semester is off to a great start!

The Office of Student Financial Services has a few important reminders and updates to share with you:

1. Work Study Opportunities
Have you been awarded Work Study but haven’t found a job yet?
Stop by our office to learn about available on-campus positions and how to get started with your Work Study job.

2. Financial Aid Refunds
Have you received a refund from excess financial aid after your bill was paid?
If you've already purchased your books and supplies for the Fall Semester, consider returning any unused portion of your refund to help reduce your student loan balance.
Reducing your loan now means less to repay after graduation!

3. FAFSA Now Open for 2026–2027
Great news! The Department of Education has opened the FAFSA application for the 2026–2027 Academic Year early.
Visit www.studentaid.gov to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible.
This application covers aid for:

· Fall 2026

· Spring 2027

· Summer 2027

Note: If you plan to graduate in May 2026 or will not return to UMPI next year, you do not need to complete this FAFSA.
