Faculty Fellows in action! 🦉

UMPI Provost & VP of Academic Affairs Alana Margeson brought selected faculty over to Wieden Gymnasium for this year’s Faculty Fellows program, focused on the science and application of effective feedback.

They practiced free throws while receiving real-time coaching from UMPI Head Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Kane — a fun, hands-on way to experience what effective feedback looks (and feels) like.

The UMPI Owls Athletics Department will be well-represented at the Fair tonight!

Lil' Farmer's Market:

Step into one of the Northern Maine Fair’s most beloved family attractions—Lil’ Farmers at the Fair—an interactive, hands-on experience designed to help children discover where their food, fiber, and everyday farm products come from.

Created especially for young fairgoers, Lil’ Farmers invites children to become “farmers for a day” as they move through a series of engaging farm-themed stations. Along the way, kids can gather grain, milk Daisy the cow, collect eggs, sort potatoes, explore how wool becomes clothing, plant and harvest vegetables, and bring their goods to market. At the end of the experience, they can trade their hard work for a Lil’ Farmer’s Dollar and “shop” for a real snack in the make-believe grocery store.

More than just a fun activity, Lil’ Farmers is a unique agricultural education experience that connects children to the land, the farm, and the hardworking people who help feed and clothe our communities. Through play, exploration, and imagination, kids learn the journey from farm to table—and farm to fiber—in a way that is memorable, meaningful, and exciting.

Lil’ Farmers celebrates the importance of farming while giving families a chance to learn, play, and make lasting fair memories together.
