The snow is melting. Another spring gives us hope to start thinking about events. The school is asking if there is any Question's about tours or renting the school . Please ask the school is a good place to have a wedding or family outing . enjoy the mud season 😀

A historical one-room school house in Presque Isle, Maine. Built in 1917, the James School was used as a one-room schoolhouse until 1948.
The building was later used as a non-denominational church by the Hillside Gospel Mission until the early 1970s. With the sun shining brightly through the southern "wall of windows", the bell would ring from the belfry calling local children to school and worship. Many local people were either teachers or students. Sadly, for over 20 years, the school stood vacant and fell into disrepair...

The school was proud to except a new painting, by a neighborhood girl, years ago. The art was donated by Louise Walton, who also lived in the neighborhood. Pictured are some of the board members, who hung the painting on Sunday.😁😄😀

We are starting the next part of the windows Portland glass is doing a nice job replacing panes that need it also as they go . The 3 on the left are done .

The James school will be open for a few more Sunday's if the flag is up were open. 1-3 This week we are starting the south windows fix. These windows are kind of the heart and soul of the building. Come and visit .
