Great news! Many of you may have received an email from Amazon stating that the Presidio Education Foundation has received our quarterly donation from the Amazon Smile program. THANK YOU to everybody who uses Amazon Smile and has selected PEF as their non-profit. The email shows that to-date, we have received $1,270.70 from this program. I am proud to say those dollars have funded the "Amazon Smile" scholarship which we give to a graduating senior every May. This year will be no different, and in fact, will be larger in value since the quarterly checks are increasing!

Scholarship Night is one week away! Thirty-one students applied for scholarships. We are now in the process of selecting the Class of 2021 scholarship recipients. Yay!! Having said that, there will be a few deserving students that will not receive a scholarship due to the lower amount of donations this year. I am hoping to raise enough for 12-15 textbooks, which will be more than last year! If you can afford to help a graduate with a college textbook, please donate $125, which is the average price of a textbook. Donate by going to our website and clicking on the 'Donate' button. www.presidioef.org.

We have received 31 scholarship applications and we are now reading each of the essays. I had to pause a moment to recognize A HERO mentioned in one of the student's essays.

"I have accrued a passion for helping people. This is due to hearing and seeing the struggles some of these heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic face via my close friend and alumni of Presidio High School, Sonia Cueto Beltrán. Her story of why she became a nurse has touched me and has inspired me to want to help heal and be a friendly face in what may be a sea of lost hope."

Sonia, the Presidio Education Foundation would like to send you one of our challenge coins in recognition of you living our vision, "Making a difference in Presidio and beyond!" Please send us a private message with your mailing address so we can mail it to you. The author of this essay said that she met you at the high school career fair. Thank you, Sonia, for being an inspiration to our PHS Class of 2021!

Dear supporters of the Presidio High School Class of 2021: The Presidio Education Foundation is accepting donations for scholarships to be awarded on scholarship night. We take great pride in awarding 100% of all donations directly to the graduating class. This means that EVERY DOLLAR DONATED will go to Presidio graduates. Not many (if any) non-profit organizations can say that!
