In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia, along with the TEDActive simulcast event in nearby Whistler. The annual TEDGlobal conference will be held this October in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world get help translating their wishes into action; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share ideas worth spreading. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED. The TEDx EmbryRiddlePrescott conferences will feature a dynamic variety of speakers. The majority of these speakers will be ERAU students representing the four colleges that will showcase ERAU’s talent and academia. So why attend?

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the end of the TEDxEmbryRiddlePrescott. After much debate and deliberation, the TEDx team here on our campus has determined that this event is simple not sustainable on the Embry-Riddle campus.

If anyone from the community is interested in continuing the event under a different name for the community at large, please message our Lead Organizer, Hannah Bryner, on facebook, and she will meet with you to discuss the possibility.

A big thank you to everyone who was able to attend the TEDxEmbryRiddlePrescottWomen event! We hope you enjoyed it. We are excited to announce that we are beginning the interview processes for both our TEDxEmbryRiddlePrescottWomen event (coming December 8th) and our TEDxEmbryRiddlePrescott event (coming February 2020)! We are excited to meet and hear from all our interviewees!

We had an overwhelming response to our call for speakers this year! We're so grateful we have been able to grow with this community and the Embry-Riddle Prescott campus. We received so many applications for speakers that we can't possibly interview them all, but all applicants will be notified regarding their application status by the end of this week. In the meantime, please continue to follow us and show your support for these events. Don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or comments. We're also always looking for local sponsorship to further connect ourselves to the community, so let us know if you are interested.

We're back on Facebook with some reminders! Thanks for sticking with us through finals and a brief hiatus at the start of summer. Now that we're getting back into the groove of things, we'd like to encourage you to apply to speak at one of our upcoming conferences, and reach out to the TEDx Task Force if you are interested in helping out the organization through donations of time, money, or supplies.

We are excited to officially announce that the we have been granted a TEDxWomen license for the 2019 year! In December of 2019, the very first TEDxEmbryRiddlePrescottWomen will be held at the ERAU campus. The TEDx Task Force is now accepting speaking applications for this event.
