Dear PUSD Families, Friends and Colleagues-
What a storm! We've all been "digging out" this weekend, and our PUSD crews have been working overtime to get parking lots, entries and sidewalks as clear as possible. Of course, like your houses and the rest of town, these icy and snowy conditions will remain for a while. Please plan extra time for you driving, walking and moving about our campuses (just like your houses and the rest of town.) We appreciate your patience as it will still be a while before every parking space is available, and every walk is clear of ice and snow. As always, your PUSD staff will be understanding and flexible as we await the thaw. Looking forward to seeing you all!
Sincerely,
Joe Howard
Superintendent

PUSD will be operating on a two hour delay schedule today 2/11/19. The Prescott area received a small amount of precipitation between two and three a.m. Along with cold temperatures, many of our roads became very icy. Plows are out, but have a big job in getting cinders on all of the icy roads. This delay will allow our buses and also our family drivers to take some extra time for the commute this morning. This does not mean that roads will necessarily be clear after the two hours. Temperatures will remain freezing well into the late morning. Our drivers checked throughout our varied elevations around 4 AM, finding conditions much more slick than last week's brief winter storm. There are varied plans with our higher elevation families that will be communicated on our website and facebook as they become available. As always, we understand that based on different local conditions and the skills and experience of drivers, individual families will need to make their own decisions about driving. With that in mind, PUSD staff is always flexible and understanding of these different circumstances for our families. Drive safe!
