Guys!! It’s coming ! We are so excited!

double, no triple yes yes yes (at least). ps does your aac user get encouraged to ASK questions? this is great for a million reasons but think of how much autonomy and anxiety relief there can be in this

Stop turning every interaction into a pop quiz.

AAC users deserve time to process what’s been said, time to find the words, and time to build a response. When we rush in with question after question, we don’t support communication… we interrupt it.

Try mixing it up:
-make comments instead of always asking
-model language without pressure to respond
-share observations
-give real wait time

Conversation isn’t about speed, it’s about connection.
Let’s slow down and make space for AAC voices to be heard.

Sad news! This gentleman was a wonderful community advocate and even helped with many of the local aac projects among countless others. No idea what caused him to pass at such a young age. Hoping to see his little ones taken care of in such hard times this Christmas while keeping the privacy his family has sought.

PRC-Saltillo Ambassador Keagan Sweeney shares a blog that challenges assumptions and invites you to go beyond asking what AAC users want — ask what they think. Because communication isn’t just about words. It’s about connection.

“When we say something, we mean it.”
