Friends of Prescott Public Library has received SO MANY 💿 CDs 💿 that the booksale (located on the 2nd floor of the library) will be having a sale! Only 25¢/CD from May 9th-May 31st 😱😱😱 Who is ready for some new jams!?

A few spaces have just opened up in our popular Kid Creations craft program. Call the Youth Desk at 928.777.1537 to register your kiddo for some crafty fun this Thursday, April 17 at 3:30 pm!

Kid Creations is for children ages 6-10. All supplies will be provided thanks to generous funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.

It’s National Library Week, a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning! 🎉🤗🥰

Join Prescott Public Library for some special National Library Week activities:

- Beloved storybook character Llama Llama will visit library storytimes on Tuesday (4/8) and Wednesday (4/9) at 10 am and hand out free books to kids.
- A bookmark contest for youth ages 5-18. Entry forms are available at the Youth Desk.
- A chance to share your library love on our Library Love trees located on the 1st and 2nd floor.
- A library outing to the Prescott Farmers Market on Saturday, April 12 to share information about programs and resources, issue new library cards, and give out fun Crafts to Go kits for adults. Llama Llama will also stop by the Farmers Market to hand out free books to kids from 9-11 am.

National Library Week is April 6–12, 2025. These special activities are presented thanks to generous funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.

Tomorrow!

“Hügelkultur” (pronounced hyoo-gul-kulture) is a German word that means mound culture or hill culture. In this month's Gardening Talk, learn more about what hügelkultur is, the benefits of using this gardening technique, along with how and where to build these mounds. You'll further explore different hügelkultur techniques and learn the do's and don'ts of this process. The Gardening Talks series is available thanks to a partnership with Yavapai Master Gardeners.

Thursday, February 20 at 5:30 pm in the Founders Suite.

At this month’s Art Appreciation for Kids program, learn about Wassily Kandinsky and individual expression through abstract painting, then create your own abstract painting while listening to music! For children, ages 6-10. Register online, at the Youth Desk, or call 928.777.1537.

Art Appreciation for Kids is presented by the Prescott Art Docents, a volunteer organization dedicated to sharing a love of art, with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.

Mark your calendar! On Wednesday, December 18, decorate graham cracker houses at the library’s 17th annual Cookie House Decorating event! This year, there are three time slots to choose from: 10-11 am, 4-5 pm, and 6-7 pm. Registration is required and seating is limited. Sign up at the Youth Desk or call 928.777.1537 today.

Cookie House Decorating for Kids is for youth of all ages. To make the program available to more children, please register just one adult “helper” per child.

This special program is presented with support from the Teen Advisory Group, with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
