One of the traditions we look forward to every year, 8th Grade Speeches. 🎓
These speeches gave our students a chance to reflect on their time at La Tierra, share memories, thank the people who supported them, and look ahead to what comes next. There were plenty of laughs, a few tears, and lots of moments we’ll remember.
We’re proud of the confidence, growth, and thoughtfulness this class brought to the stage.

Field day recap: water games and battles, lots of laughter, random dance parties, and all the end-of-year fun 💦🎶
A solid way to wrap things up before summer! ☀️

🎓 Just like that… our 8th graders are officially freshmen!
It’s bittersweet watching this group move on, but we know they’re headed toward incredible things. This class was full of curiosity, resilience, humor, leadership, and students willing to push themselves outside of their comfort zones. We’ve watched them grow so much, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for each of them.
Once a La Tierra student, always a La Tierra student 💛 Congrats, Class of 2026!

Kindergarten took their learning outdoors at Lynx Lake 🌲
Using nature as their playground, students explored different kinds of forces through hands-on activities and games including an epic tug-of-war where the kindergarten class beat their teachers! 💪😂
🎉 Kindergarten Celebrations of Learning 🎉
Our kindergarteners became engineers this semester as they explored forces, pushes, and pulls all around them! Students designed their own pinball machines and shared how motion and force work in everyday life. Such a fun way to showcase their creativity and learning!
STEM got a little explosive today 💥🧪
Students put their engineering and science skills to the test with baking soda and vinegar explosions!

🧬🔬 Our 7th & 8th Grade Celebrations of Learning were incredible! 🔬🧬
This semester, 7th grade explored the fantastic world of cells, learning about the building blocks of life, organ systems, epidemics, and what keeps our bodies healthy.
8th grade took on genetics, evolution, adaptation, and genetically modified organisms through their expedition, “Unlocking the Gene.”
It was amazing to see students confidently showcase their research, projects, and learning through collaboration, creativity, and hard work. Such a great day celebrating all they accomplished this semester!

Our first graders traveled to the Verde Valley to visit the Palatki Heritage Site and learn about ancient Sinagua astronomers and their lifeways. They played in Oak Creek and explored wind caves in the canyon walls, testing the boundaries of courage and resilience. They stargazed and enjoyed s’mores around the campfire. 🏕️🌌
Thanks to all the families and chaperones who helped make this trip deeply educational and wonderfully safe!

Our Celebrations of Learning are coming up! ✨
Join us on May 7th at La Tierra (times above!) to see what our students have been working on. COLs are a chance for students to showcase their projects, share their learning, and reflect on their growth during their expeditions. They’ve been working hard and can’t wait to share it with you. Don’t miss it!
