These dedicated volunteers are trained through the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and have completed extensive education in horticulture, soil health, water conservation, pest management, sustainable gardening practices, and more. There will be a FREE tree planting class at Chino Nursery on June 13th 2026 at 8 AM. This course will teach you the basics pf tree planting, staking and watering and will be conducted by the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners. Hurry there are only 10 spots left and this will be based on a first come first serve basis. If you want to get on the list you can either send us a DM Chino Nursery or you can stop by the nursery and get added to the list! We hope to see everyone there!

Eye On Prescott recently featured the Yavapai County Master Gardeners program and the work being done to support research-based gardening education in our community.

Our goal is to help residents make informed decisions using horticultural science and practical strategies that are appropriate for our region. Programs like this are an opportunity to share information on topics such as soil health, pollinator support, water-wise gardening, and sustainable landscape practices.

We appreciate the opportunity to highlight the educational mission of the Master Gardeners and the value of community-based outreach in Yavapai County.
