At Core Pilates Prescott, we take our Pilates practice seriously—but never ourselves too seriously.
This story is a testament to how comfortable my clients feel with me… maybe a little too comfortable 🤔🤣
Right after my group class ended, I went into the bathroom while everyone was cleaning up.
Just as I was about to walk out, someone slipped the pictured note under the door and hid around the corner 😂
I turned the corner and spotted the culprit.
Everyone else from class was in the lobby cracking up…and I was dying 💀🤣
As I walked to the lobby, I had a feeling there was a co-conspirator involved, so I asked, “okay… who was the co-conspirator?”
Someone fessed up, and we all just kept laughing.
My poor next class walked in right in the middle of all the chaos…

Ever have a little Pilates brain fart? 🙃
The teacher cues:
“Lower your heels.”
… and you bend your knees 🤪
“Lift your footbar up.”
… and you lift your headrest 🤪
“Press your arms down to the carriage.”
… and there you are with your arms still proudly in the air 🤪
“Lift your head, neck & shoulders up into your ab curl position.”
… and suddenly you’re flying up into a full Roll Up 🤪
“Set up your Roll Down Bar.”
… and you go for the Push Through Bar 🤪
It happens. We’ve all done it. Even seasoned students.
But here’s the thing👇🏼
Pilates isn’t just about moving your body.
It’s about training your mind to listen, process, and respond with precision.
Your mind is a huge part of the method. Pilates asks you to stay focused, aware, and present — not just physically, but mentally.
It strengthens and mobilizes your body, yes.
But it also sharpens your attention and challenges you to truly listen.

Many people assume that private Pilates is just for those who aren’t ready for group classes, and that you graduate to groups. But that’s not the case at all.
Privates are for anyone who wants a fully personalized session. Whether you’re new to exercising or you’re a high level athlete.
With a comprehensively trained teacher, you have access to the full Pilates system: all of the apparatus and the complete repertoire.
Programming is built entirely around your strengths, weaknesses, and goals. You’re not limited by group structure, shared pacing, or the safety considerations that naturally come with teaching multiple bodies at once.
That can mean advancing beyond what is possible in a group format. It can also mean addressing very specific individual needs or working on apparatus that isn’t used in group classes.
Group classes and private training aren’t levels to graduate through. They’re different formats designed to meet different needs.
If you’ve been considering private training, this might be your sign.
