Meet Caleb, a recent graduate of Bradshaw Mountain High School and Mountain Institute CTED’s Veterinary Assisting program! Chosen as a Student Spotlight, Caleb says he first became interested in the program after seeing a recruitment table on
campus and learning more about careers working with animals. One of his favorite skills to learn was administering vaccinations during his externship, knowing he was helping keep animals healthy and safe. He also gained a deeper understanding of animal body systems and discovered that the veterinary field is often more collaborative and personable than many people expect.
This fall, Caleb will attend NAU to pursue a future in veterinary medicine, with aspirations of specializing in cardiac or neurosurgery. His advice to future veterinary students is simple: “Don’t be afraid to be hands-on. That’s the best way to learn.”
Outside of school, Caleb enjoys playing Super Smash Bros., performing on the clarinet, and has won music competitions since he was 14 years old. As the first person in his family to pursue animal medicine, Caleb credits a freshman biology teacher for inspiring his passion for animals and the natural world. “Nature is just the most beautiful thing,” he says.

Looking back on our Program Completion Celebration on May 7th, we're reminded that student success is truly a team effort. Students from our Dental Assisting, Fire Science, Medical Assisting, and Veterinary Assisting programs gathered to celebrate their hard work, perseverance, and growth, while enjoying games, laughter, and time together with the instructors, office staff, and board members who helped support them along the way.
The event was not only a celebration of our students' accomplishments but also a reflection of the dedication and commitment of the educators and staff who guided them throughout their journey. Congratulations to all of our program completers—we are proud of everything you've achieved and excited to see what comes next!
