At Autauga Virtual Academy, learning goes beyond the computer. Throughout the year, our students come together for hands-on, collaborative, and fun on-campus activities!

This week, our students had a blast getting creative with pumpkin decorating and taking part in the City of Prattville's Parade of Pumpkins. It was a wonderful opportunity to build connections and celebrate our local community together!

We are proud to highlight Teresa Duprel as she completes her first year as school nurse at Autauga Virtual Academy!

Bringing extensive nursing experience from home health and dialysis, Teresa transitioned to school nursing to make a direct impact on students: "There are many aspects of school nursing, but I find it most rewarding to address a student's medical, mental, and emotional needs to help them succeed in the classroom."

Outside of work, Teresa enjoys traveling with her family, relaxing at home, and gardening.

We are proud to highlight Collier Jones as they mark 2 years with Autauga Virtual Academy!

Collier’s passion for elementary education centers on meaningful student engagement: "My passion as a virtual elementary educator is turning daily curiosity into lasting confidence by creating engaging learning experiences where every student can thrive."

Outside of AVA, Collier stays busy supporting their children’s sports and activities, spending time with the family dog, and enjoying a good book.

We are proud to feature Reggie Jackson as he marks his first year with Autauga Virtual Academy!

Mr. Jackson brings a commitment to connection and continuous learning to our virtual classrooms: "One thing that has been new for me is finding different ways to connect with students and keep them motivated in a virtual setting. I enjoy the opportunity to try new things and find ways to make a positive impact on students."

Outside of his instructional duties at AVA, Mr. Jackson enjoys coaching, fitness, and spending time with his family.

From pageants to the bowling alley, Zoey is proving that the right learning environment can make all the difference!

After struggling in a traditional setting due to health challenges, and missed school days, Zoey found her stride with Autauga Virtual Academy. Since joining AVA, she has built her confidence, found incredible support from her teachers, and taken total control of her education.

Zoey stays ahead of her coursework by jumping right in early each morning. Getting her schoolwork done early allows her to prepare for weekend pageants, practice with the Prattville High School bowling team, and enjoy well-deserved free time with her family without the stress of playing catch-up.

When days get tough, Zoey relies on positive self-talk and an amazing support system—including her mom, brother, and grandparents.

We are so proud of Zoey’s dedication, self-advocacy, and bright spirit. Keep knocking down those goals, Zoey!
