Hi everyone, with it being National Adult Education and Family Literacy week, we wanted to announce that we have FREE calendars for Pre-K students and their families that help promote literacy. These calendars offer great resources to help Pre-K students prepare for Kindergarten.
Some calendars have already been given to Pre-K children enrolled in local childcare centers in Autauga County. If you have a child in Pre-K who has NOT received a calendar, please come by the Family Support Center's main office and pick one up.
*Calendars are only available as supplies last.*

We're continuing the celebration of National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week by highlighting Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The Imagination Library sends any child registered, ages 0-5, a book every month. There is no cost to the child's family. It's very simple to register and can be done by visiting the main website at: https://imaginationlibrary.com/
In addition, reading to children is crucial, as it fosters language development, emotional awareness, and stronger parent-child bonds. Research has found that young children whose parents read to them daily have been exposed to at least 290,000 more words by the time they enter kindergarten than children who aren’t read to regularly.
Reading to your children doesn't have to be a perfect routine. Taking time to read to your child before bedtime, or having your children watch you read, can help grow their own passion for reading.
