πŸ¦‹ Fall Armyworm Monitoring Underway πŸ¦‹

Kingman County is once again participating in the statewide Fall Armyworm moth trapping program. Pheromone traps have been placed throughout the county to monitor moth activity, and Fall Armyworm moths have already been detected in one of our traps.

These traps will be checked weekly, with moth counts submitted to the Great Lakes and Maritime Pest Monitoring Network. Monitoring helps provide early warning of potential infestations and supports timely management decisions for producers and homeowners alike.

To learn more about Fall Armyworm monitoring and view weekly trap counts across Kansas, visit: https://www.agronomy.k-state.edu/eupdates/2026/issue-1106-june-4/weekly-fall-armyworm-counts-available-online.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawSdP5RleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFVUEpYMmtSWjU5ZnJ4Szhnc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHuMOYoeFZzfyfkOgNXP8ZGIcIiz3r6abkWQ9swlKSfk8wFJKLnZpDopSPKe_aem_fBrPBrotFrhnYe9HzjmJPA

Stay tuned for updates throughout the season!

We're excited to announce plans for a Multi-Species Showmanship Clinic on July 8 at the Barber County Fairgrounds in Hardtner, Kansas. This year's event will expand beyond our previous beef clinics to include multiple species and provide youth with an opportunity to sharpen their showmanship skills, build confidence in the ring, and prepare for county fair season.

As we plan the clinic, we'd love your input! Complete the interest form to let us know what species you show and what topics you'd like to see included.

Please note: This is NOT registration. The interest form will help us shape the clinic and provide the best experience possible for participants.

The interest form will remain open through June 21, and official registration will open shortly after.

Complete the interest form here:
