Advisory Committee Planning Made Easier
It’s that time of year when many of us are beginning to plan our Agricultural Education Advisory Committee meetings!
If you’re looking for a resource to help guide your planning, check out the Agricultural Education Advisory Committee Manual. It includes information on forming an advisory committee, committee functions and duties, meeting operations, and even a sample meeting agenda and sample minutes.
One of the things I like about this resource is that it goes beyond simply holding a meeting—it provides ideas for how an advisory committee can truly support your program. Advisory committees can help with curriculum, work-based learning opportunities, program evaluation, industry connections, resources, equipment, and keeping programs current with changes in agriculture.
As a National FFA Teacher Ambassador, one of my goals is to share resources that can make our jobs a little easier. We don’t always have to reinvent the wheel—sometimes a great resource is already out there and just needs to be put to work in our own program!
I’m attaching the Advisory Committee Manual for anyone who would like to use it as you start planning your meetings this year
