“I would like to say thank you to the East Fund for allowing us to get new drawing boards for our class. The students love them and use them everyday. The drawing boards have not been replaced in I’m not even sure how many years, and they were in various sorts of disarray and brokenness so it was hard to get a nice flat service. But these are super flat so there are no crazy bumps going on while they are drawing so they’re really nice and smooth. They are a lot lighter in weight too so if we are drawing outside or a different room, it’s easier for the students to carry them.” - Miss Chalk ~ contributed by East Fund Ambassador Sofia Wehner

East Fund granted $3,000 to the Art Department for two new class sets (60 total) of drawing boards

Last year, the East Fund granted the Business Department with new Lego sets, mice, adaptors, and computer chargers. We spoke to Mrs. Krievins, one of the teachers in the department here and she was very appreciative for the grants. She said, “The Legos gave me resources for the management project. The mice and adaptors helped with our Minecraft project and made it easier to complete. The chargers have been used to help keep the student’s computers charged. I am very grateful and appreciative to the East Fund for their help!” ~ contributed by East Fund Ambassadors Davis Eakes and Cade Wildman

“Thanks to a generous donation from the East Fund last school year, the athletic department was able to purchase new trophy cases to improve the display of East’s awards. Prior to this, the trophy cases were cluttered and overwhelmed with the amount of state trophies collected over the years. This summer, more shelves were added to the cases along with the trophies being organized and cleaned. This helped the cases become more attractive for students, staff and guests at our school.” ~ contributed by East Fund Ambassadors Lucy Stephens, Jordan O’Brien, and Addison Stover

East Fund granted $5,137 for trophy case glass shelving and clips

“Thanks to the East Fund Grant from last year, Columbia Brew, the in house-student ran coffee shop, got an ice machine! Not only does this cut down the time it took to get ice by half, it also allows for the staff to fill 2 buckets of ice instead of 1 for the coffee shop every day. This allows for refills throughout the day as necessary! Senior Alex Flower states that, “The daily increase in drinks we can serve is extremely apparent and our revenue has seen a big increase. It also means we don’t have to send someone to refill our ice buckets every 20 minutes. “ Thanks again to the East Fund Board for this amazing grant!” ~ contributed by East Fund Ambassador Alexander Flower
