The battalion took on a 9/11 Memorial Ruck Stair Climb to honor the fallen and remember the heroes of that fateful day. Huge shoutout to the UH Air Force ROTC cadets for joining us on the steps and building that joint-force bond.

We were privileged to welcome our 5th Brigade Command Team, COL Decker and CSM Gilmer! After dropping invaluable knowledge and guidance on our future officers, they strapped on their rucks and conquered the stairs right alongside us.

To top off a powerful day, three of our own were recognized for their outstanding growth, dedication, and resilience:

Cadet Hall (MSIII)

Good evening !! 🐾
This past week, we successfully wrapped up our first week of PT with an outstanding turnout of motivated cadets. We established the fundamentals by introducing PRT protocols and MMD 1, ensuring proper form and movement standards from day one. To close out the week, we administered an initial diagnostic to assess our baseline fitness and effectively guide our training plan moving forward.

Good Afternoon Panthers 🐾

Today we kicked off our first lab of the semester, setting the standard and giving our newest cadets their first taste of Army ROTC.

We also took time to recognize three outstanding cadets who exemplify excellence:
BC Cadet Collins and S-3 Cadet Cook both scored 80+ points at Advanced Camp
MSIII Cadet Bonner placed 1st in Drill & Ceremony at Basic Camp

Outstanding job, Cadets. We are incredibly proud of your hard work and leadership! 🫡🇺🇸

Their professionalism, precision, and dedication showcased the highest standards of military excellence while honoring America’s pride and dignity.
Their outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, as the Color Guard was recognized by several elected officials and the University President for their exceptional representation of Prairie View A&M University, the United States Army, and Army Cadet Command.

Battle books out and prepared to copy!

Patrol Base Operations:

The intent of this lab was to teach and familiarize our Panther Battalion the key elements of patrol base operations. Here, we focused on the importance of 360-degree security, how to properly and accurately execute priorities of work, and when to rehearse actions on contact.

Thank you Panthers, especially MSIII’s, for all your hard work in these final strides before your turn at Cadet Summer Training. Your participation and enlightening feedback contribute more than you know. Your dedication not only positively impacts the roles and responsibilities of your Professor of Military Science, Assistant Professors of Military science and MSIV’s, but also those who follow in your footsteps. Continue to strive for greatness and excellence… because excellence lives where??

WHAT A TURNOUT!!

On the January 23rd, the Panther Batallion was formally reintroduced to platoon tactics, starting the semester off with a drill sequence of MTC (movement-to-contact). During this simulation, our Assistant Professors of Military Science and MS IVs observed the platoon and witnessed the incorporation of individual soldier sound discipline, as well as numerous hand and arm signals and movement techniques; thus creating a more realistic approach to this.

A special thank you and acknowledgement to the MSI’s and MSII’s that continue to show up with or without being contracted: Thank you, your presence and dedication does not go unnoticed.

Panther Batallion tackled land navigation, range cards, and furthered our expertise in warrior skills all in one lab. We strive to adequately prepare our MSIII’s for CST, they have made greater strides than anyone could’ve imagined. Not only is their advancement and initiative unparalleled, they also continue to be the guiding light for our upcoming leaders in the MSI-II classes.
