So as many of you know I am a bit of a mechanic type geek. As a result my range bag has become a black hole of “stuff”. The pix below on the tool bench top is what was inside it. How a guy gets five tubes of sunblock I will never know? The hockey puck I totally understand and it will stay a fixture but I had enough tools to rebuild a car, and enough redundancy to make NASA proud. Depending on event the load goes up! I was muttering to my Buddy Bart and Vanessa Prairie Grove Ace Hardware and they showed me a Milwaukee pack out. Next thing I know Vanessa had me picking out components and BART grinned like a monkey in the background. But long story short holy smokes this thing has changed my life! Thus far I have eliminated around 1/2 dozen and still counting black plastic hard cases. The pix below shows the tight shelf and the related three cases it eliminates. Simply amazing. Somebody has thought this out, it is totally modular so I can add and subtract layers depending on the event. The pictured one is for force on force training so it has starter pistol, SERT pistols plus air soft. I am in full geek mode! Talk about taking a hot mess and sorting it out! Plus the cooler is on top! I am thrilled!

Well has it been hot or what? Rob Get Trained. Be Ready.and I just got done doing a training evolution down in Little Rock. The officer candidates hung tough. By the last day on the range I looked around at the group and it looked like one of my old hockey locker rooms. There was not a single hand that did not have med tape on it, these guys were patched up, taped up and had the foil on! They were tight lipped and focused on winning. Several days in a row in 100 degree plus heat will do that to you. Never mind the five hundred or so rounds you shoot, plus the mental focus it takes. I could not have been more proud. Rob and I were slugging Gatorade at 0400hrs in the morning preparing for the heat, never mind the fact that he (Rob) had to wake me up in the chair every night long before 2000hrs! The final day is force on force in their school/church. we loved the AC! Below is a couple of pix from the cab of my truck after the week! I have seen camps under a bridge that looked better!

Well we are winding down on all of our CSSO training evolutions. In speaking with a student last night we were discussing just how tolling the week can be on a CSSO candidate. I can assure you it also takes a heavy toll on us as instructors here Get Trained. Be Ready. Those of you that know me understand that I like a neat clean tidy workspace, be it the range , my shop or truck. Below are some pix of the cab of my truck after a CSSO road trip teaching adventure. My ever present peanut butter saves the day over and over. If you look close you can read the lettering on my green pistol. It says “Not Robs” Hah! If ya know ya know.

thank you for the inquiry and I am not sure why I cannot respond on messenger? FB hates me! Hah!Feel free to ping me at the number on the cover page. And to answer your question, we do in fact offer many NRA classes as I am a NRA training counselor. Sadly due to all of the animosity towards 2A education I do not often discuss or publish our training schedule. It makes no difference how many local law enforcement officers and or church or school administrators we train to defend our community against those that would do our children harm, folks simply do not want us to train and go to great lengths to oppose what we do. Breaks my heart.

Well today is the last range day of this training evolution. To be fair four straight days standing out on the range in this heat has taken a toll on me. Clearly I am not as young as I once was.
We have been training a school district so the students rotated into teams for range days but no such luck for me! As I crawled onto the four wheeler this morning at 0500hrs to run our Shepards a couple of miles in the cool morning air. Instinctively I did a quick self assessment. Feet sore, check. Knees sore, check, can’t open hands yet, check. Back sore, check. Looks like I checked all the box’s! Hah!
We unlocked the gate and started our run, lap after lap in the pasture, two beautiful Shepards running at full tilt, tongues flying in the breeze, bodies stretched out, gliding thru the air, feet only skimming the ground. The two of them reminding me once more of the majestic beauty we call life. The aches and pains simply disappeared and once again I was both humbled and awed by the blessings I have received.
The officers this week have hung tough as well, we have pushed them hard and they have responded with determination and effort. They have been training all day everyday. These men and women don’t have to be here, they have volunteered to keep their communities children safe, and stand in the gap. Here Get Trained. Be Ready. We see this mindset manifest itself over and over at churches and schools all over this State. Don’t let Social media fool ya, there is still a whole bunch of good folks in this Country, with the heart and courage to keep folks safe. I am honored to work with them.

It is my absolute favorite time of the day, the quiet of the morning. Setting the range up while the sun begins her gradual ascent. The evening mist reluctantly giving way to the light. Cell phone “accidentally” left behind, as I anxiously await yet another nasty gram explaining I did not close my move ring today. Jodi has explained to me over and over that the key is to actually carry your phone? Dogs at my feet exuding energy in the cool of the morning. This is going to be a busy month our Team Get Trained. Be Ready. Is scattered to the four winds this month training School Districts across the State.

Sadly the flash flood warnings were legit yesterday. Blair Creek overflowed the banks by a large margin and washed out our road and then flooded the pasture. We have done so much work on erosion I cannot begin to tell you. We really thought we had this solved. As always…. Mother Earth 1,Mere Human 0!

We have several classes coming up with Get Trained. Be Ready. And in addition a great women’s only class being taught by Allie of Mazzanti Fi****ms Training. And of course our monthly CCW class by Scott Stewart.
Once again yet a public reminder that we are not a public range. If you want to shoot or train you must call and schedule an appointment. Not sure how that rumor continues to get resurrected continually but it has resurfaced once more. I think I am going to put that on our sign! Hah! I am heading to Quantico Va. for some training and it includes some difficult shooting qualifications. Yep I am rocking a 1911 frame pistol with that legendary trigger you can only get in an iconic pistol that has won two world wars! Rob will wear me out over it, but hey, it is what it is, and I am what I am. Hah

Most all y’all know my life is ruled by two K9s, Maze n Grace. One is a German Shepard and the other is a Belgian Malinois. They are forever on guard and simply will not be deterred. However on occasion their focus is a bit wonky. The Mal is by far the smarter of the two and very quickly learned anything coming off the smoker gets trimmed, cut or consumed. Regardless the next event is always scraps. Yep total focus on guard duty for Turkey fresh off the smoker. Dog would not move. They crack me up.
