Solace Gardens and Grounds is designed to preserve a natural environment, curated in ways that are designed to enhance, observe and celebrate the natural world as our focus. Solace Gardens and Grounds is comprised of 17 acres of New England woodlands and river frontage. The Grounds stretch across gradual slopes of mixed woodland, stands of hemlock and white pine, deep stream gullies, wetlands, a
stand of clonal colony quaking aspens and open fields, all set against the shore of the East Branch of the Royal River, which stretches the length of the property. Solace remains on ancestral lands in ownership from some of the first settlers in the region. Retained through generations from the great Pownal Farms of the Pervier and Loring families, Solace is now a private rural landscape that continues to evolve and which is in development year 3 of a 10 year master plan. Hosting venue for art classes to borrow the inspring setting to elicit artistic inspiration immersed in nature to create art. A serene, outdoor venue for the performance of live music, viewing and experiencing the fine arts. Demonstration events and celebrations of traditional practice of traditional handcrafts. Seasonal programs to celebrate the New England natural year: Spring, Summer Solstice, Fall Harvest and local traditions, Holiday/ Winter Season/ Solstice and others.
