Classroom Spotlight - Friendship Room
The Friendship Room this week is officially abuzz as they kick off their bee-themed week! Today, the bee sensory bin was a hive of activity, filled with green “grass,” tiny buzzing bees, honeycombs, flowers, and more! Yesterday, they read The Happy Bee, which had them thinking all about how busy and important bees are! They carried that energy right into art time, where the children used tempera paint sticks while listening to Flight of the Bumblebee. Their table activities were just as sweet! The kids sorted colorful bees, matched honeycombs with their buzzing friends, and got to create on a black and yellow push-pin art board. They also rolled, squished, and explored playdough with honeycombs and resin bumblebees—so many ways to build those fine motor skills while staying right on theme!

Bonus Spotlight - Butterfly Room
Yesterday, the Butterflies had the sweetest teddy bear tea party! They shared fairy bread, yummy tea cookies, and juicy strawberries while sipping on delicious strawberry hibiscus tea . Their teddy bear friends had the best manners and made the party extra special! When they weren’t enjoying our tea party, we were soaking up the beautiful weather outside, playing, laughing, and feeling the sunshine on their faces. What a lovely day full of treats, friends, and fun! 💕

Classroom Spotlight - Sunshine Room
The Sunshine Room has had such an exciting week exploring space as we followed along with the Artemis II launch! Our friends learned about different space elements and had so much fun diving into hands-on activities. We built our own spacecrafts and solar systems, explored sensory materials like moonsand, and used our imaginations during spaceship-themed dramatic play.
We also had some great conversations about the Artemis II mission, as well as space, astronauts, and what it might be like to travel beyond Earth. It truly was a star-filled week of learning and discovery! 🌍🪐✨

Bonus Spotlight - Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten Class celebrated the union of sounds this week, attending the wedding of Qq and Uu. It was a ceremony uniting their sounds together forever, the kindergartners promising to always write a “u” after the letter “q” when writing words. The ceremony was followed by a reception, including wedding cake and a whole lot of dancing!
When you live what you learn, you remember! It was a glorious day in K!

Classroom Spotlight - Rainbow Room
This week in the Rainbow Room, they’re learning about the different signs of Spring! They’ve been watching their seeds sprout and making sure they have enough water and sunlight to grow, talking about different animals that come out, and are filling out a daily chart for how broccoli seeds change! Their new bugs arrived just in time as well, today they discussed how they will be watching praying mantises and butterflies grow before releasing them outside in a few weeks. We’re having fun with spring and can’t wait for the cold weather to be done!

Classroom Spotlight - Treehouse Club
With the changing of the seasons, Treehouse Club spent the last week studying about weather! March 15-21 is Severe Weather Awareness Week. Last Wednesday, our school joined a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 so we could practice hearing and responding to those outdoor sirens we hear each week being tested at noon.
Tornadoes were definitely a favorite topic of discussion and intrigue!
While the daffodils were in bloom, they used different mediums to explore the unique expressions of still life drawings.
They finished the week enjoying the spring sunshine and creating cloud finder windows and predicting and testing out how and why rain falls out of clouds!
