🤠 Please help us welcome Nicole “Nicki” Nimlos, UW Extension’s statewide rangeland management specialist.

Nicki also serves as an assistant professor of rangeland ecology in the University of Wyoming Ecosystem Science and Management. In her Extension role, she conducts research, teaching and outreach related to rangelands and livestock management.

She also serves as the western hub coordinator for the 3M: Metrics, Management, & Monitoring project, which works with ranchers in Wyoming and Colorado to study how grazing management affects rangeland health and producer well-being.

Nicki’s work focuses on connecting science, policy and on-the-ground decision-making to help producers make informed management decisions across Wyoming.

Our friends and colleagues at the U.S. Sheep Experiment Station in Dubois, Idaho, will host their annual production sale on August 20.
For more than a century, the station has played an important role in developing composite sheep breeds suited to the challenging and diverse environments of the western United States. This year’s sale marks another chapter in that history with the release of the Centennial, a new terminal-sire composite breed developed with Western production systems in mind.
Closer to home, the Wyoming Ram Sale will be held September 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds. Together, these sales reflect the long-standing importance of thoughtful sheep breeding and genetic improvement across the West.
